Product Testing – Coating and Glue.

The varnish we use is made by Treffert Coating (http://www.treffert.com/woodflooring_application.html). The coating is roller-coated UV-cured coating; there is no formaldehyde in the coating or noxious fumes. Unlike polyurethane coatings, UV coatings harden by the application of UV light, not by heating and out-gassing. This means there are no fumes during production or the finished product. It is both efficient and eco-friendly. Test information for the glue is as following (since there is no health issues with UV coating, most is performance related).

Regarding glue, we use eco-friendly glues; In addition, we keep our warehouse goods well ventilated to encourage out-gassing and isolated from any goods that transmit formaldehyde. Our finished flooring product has less than 0.15 ppm (parts per million), which exceeds E-1 standard of 0.75ppm.
